Each year, Radiant Systems donates all proceeds from sponsorships and registration fees above the cost of the event, which is minimal due to sponsorship help, to the Georgia Cancer Foundation.
The Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to cancer education, early detection and support throughout the continuum of cancer care for all Georgia residents.
The Foundation, established in 1975, reaches out to Georgians more than 15,000 times annually, focusing on all types of cancer, especially in medically underserved communities. All it takes is for one early cancer detection, one patient receiving support, or one physician learning about a life-saving treatment for GCF's impact to be felt on a personal level.
GCF sponsors a variety of programs that touch the lives of Georgia residents, as well as cancer professionals, patients and their families:
Community cancer education programs such as Cancer Town Hall Meeting
World class continuing medical education (CME) for oncology professionals
Cancer Hope & Remembrance Observance Weekend recognizing cancer patients and families, oncology professionals and those who have lost their lives to cancer
Bosom Buddies of Georgia – an affiliate program of GCF serving women, Bosom Buddies outreach includes:
Low cost mammograms for uninsured, under-insured or unemployed women
Breast Cancer Support Group Network for breast cancer survivors
Buddies on Call for one-on-one support to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients
